While the development goes into full speed to get WyriMaps.net ready for the Midsummer festival. There is something I would like to preview before it goes live. The all new Share window. Coming from a simple link in the right upper corner it evolved into a slick modal box with multiple sharing options. The plain link is still there but now includes a little brother by either is.gd, u.nu, 0x.tc or bit.ly. A wide range of social sites like Twitter and Facebook are support. And the static image announced earlier this week is also included with HTML and BBCode.

Been busy today writing a new map stitcher in preparation of the upcoming new World of Warcraft expansion Cataclysm. As a first test I generated The Battle for Gilneas that went fairly well. For the full continent stitches I needed some more RAM so ran those on a bigger box. While the script still needs tweaking the first results are in figured these images should be useful to people you’ll find them under this paragraph. While this is only 1 step in the map making progress as it is available on wyrimaps.net/wow it is a big one.

With Noblegarden event coming up I want to be ready for it. With a simpler menu (rather then the in your face pull down div) I hope to create a smoother experience.

The dyamic markers system is running pretty smooth on dev.wyrimaps.net/wow. Only IE gives some problems but those should be solved fast.

The complete backend system is ready to so adding the Noblegarden markers. Will keep you posted!

With patch 3.1 comes Ulduar and the Argent Tournament. The Argent Tournament is a small map update in northern Icecrown above Sindragosa’s Fall.

Ulduar will be a big instance, to the left is a fast map export of the place the entrenance is on the bottom.

Argent Tournament will be added over the course of the weekend (adjusting somet things in the tile cutting progress to speed things up a bit) and the Argent Tournament will show up here. The new camp contains a tent for the Horde and once for the alliance, a simple training field, several tents that look like they are coming from the Darkmoon Faire. In the middle of it all is the foundation of the Coliseum.

Anyway enjoy the Ulduar map and the upcoming Argent Tournament update to the main map .
